Summary

The State of Alaska requires the reporting of the Alaska-specific Occupational Code and Geographical Code (sometimes referred to as Area Code) quarterly. This reporting is done in conjunction with the quarterly State Unemployment Insurance reporting. It is an additional reporting requirement for the State of Alaska and is not required in other states.

The system-supplied report can be accessed through the use of the Tax Reporter, which can be launched by using Transaction Code PU19. When the SUI report is run for the State of Alaska, it needs to contained this additional information for each employee.

This table is used to create valid SAP Position Codes. Table updates will be necessary from time-to-time, as new positions are created in Alaska. This is necessary because of the need to relate SAP Position Codes in Alaska to State of Alaska Standard Occupational Codes and Area Codes.

Table T5U28_B

This table is used to associate an SAP Position in Alaska with a Workers’ Comp State and a Workers’ Comp Code. This is necessary in order for the Workers’ Comp Report to display the appropriate code. If this step is missed, the workers in Alaska will not display on the Workers’ Comp Report with a Workers’ Comp Code. The system evaluates each employee’s information when producing reports. If the SAP Position is in the workers’ comp tables, the system uses it. Otherwise, it looks to the table that converts the SAP Job to the Workers’ Comp Code. If this table is not populated before Table T5U28_C, it isn’t possible to enter the workers’ comp code.

Double click on the item “Assign WC codes to positions”.
